Reykjavik Domestic airport is located in central Reykjavik close to the main bus station BSÍ. From Reykjavik Airport it is possible to fly to, for example, Egilsstaðir, Akureyri and Ísafjörður.
When you rent a car with Route 1 at Reykjavik Airport you will be met in the arrivals hall by one of our agents. The agent will have a sign with your name on to make it easy for you to find each other. For us to be able to meet you at the correct time we ask that you to write your flight number in the comment box when you book the car. The representative will go over the contract, explain the extra insurances and give insurance recommendations depending on the current weather and road conditions. He / She will also inform you how and where to return the car, go over basic information that is good to be aware of when driving in Iceland and tell you where you are allowed to drive. There is no extra charge for renting or returning the car at Reykjavik Airport.
Please be aware that if no one has showed up to claim the rental 60 minutes after the plane has landed, then we will assume that you have forfeited your rental and our agent will be called back to the office. If any problems arise during baggage claims or customs we kindly ask you to inform us over the phone +354-565-3615 so we can ask our agent to wait while the issue is being resolved.We also deliver cars at Keflavik International Airport for an additional charge of EUR 15.

It is located close to Keflavik town and it is a 50 minute drive from central Reykjavik.
To have the car delivered to, or drop the car off, at Keflavik Airport there is a fee of EUR 15. We offer airport services 24/7. The Route 1 representative will wait for you in the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name on for easy spotting. If you prefer, it is also possible to take a bus from Keflavik Airport to Hafnarfjörður, Garðabær or the main bus station BSÍ. For an extra fee they drive you to your hotel or Reykjavik Domestic Airport. The buses leave in connection to every arriving flight. The ticket booth is located to your right when you come out into the arrivals hall. The buses are also to the right, right outside the building.
